Alpena Regional Medical Center, formerly Alpena General Hospital (AGH), is located at Alpena, Michigan. As a Regional Referral Center, the 146-bed acute care facility serves the healthcare needs of Northeastern Michigan - Alpena, Alcona, Montmorency, Iosco, Oscoda, and Presque Isle counties. Alpena Regional Medical Center is devoted to providing excellent inpatient and outpatient services. It has a network of specialized treatment facilities – Cancer Center, Sleep Disorders Center, Pain Management Clinic, Health Resource Center, Diabetics Center, and Dialysis Center. ARMC also has a complete range of cardiopulmonary, dietary/nutrition, radiology, surgical, and rehabilitation services. The Cancer Center, in association with University of Michigan Health Systems, features innovative diagnosis and treatment for cancer. The center’s Cancer Program is approved by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. Screening and support services are offered. Alpena Regional Medical Center’s Diabetic Center is the only quality program in northern Michigan and one among the seven in the United States to be recognized by the American Diabetes Association. It offers diabetes self-management training program to the patients and their families. More than a hospital, Alpena Regional Medical Center expands its services through remote clinics. To reach out to the public, a variety of communication education programs and improvement activities are conducted. Facilities such as outpatient pharmacy, cafeteria, and vending machines are provided for visitor’s convenience. Air and ambulance transportation is available.
